5 reasons to be at #INbeerfest this Saturday

The 20th Annual Indiana Microbrewers Festival takes place this Saturday at Military Park in downtown Indy.

Bigger and better than ever, there are plenty of reasons to join us, but here are a few highlights.

Sample cups at Bloomington Craft Beer Festival

1. The beer.

You’ll get a 3 oz. Drink Indiana Beer/HopCat Broad Ripple sampling cup and be able to choose from hundreds of craft beers to enjoy from 100+ craft breweries and guests. And if you’re a DD, we’ll have complimentary craft soda and coffee for you.

Check out #INbeerfest on Twitter and especially Instagram to see what kind of goodness your favorite breweries are bringing.

2. You’re directly supporting the beer you love.

Indiana now has 108 breweries in the state, with the majority of those pouring for you at the festival.

When you buy a ticket to an official Brewers of Indiana Guild event, you directly support the small businesses that craft the local beer you drink and make it possible for us to create brewer-friendly legislation and promote the industry.

Additionally, a portion of ticket proceeds from our three annual festivals benefits good causes like the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (Indiana Microbrewers Festival), Lotus Education & Arts Foundation (Bloomington Craft Beer Festival), and Partners in Housing (Winterfest).

3. Meet Snickers!

You may’ve seen Snickers’ adventures visiting local dog-friendly establishments on social media (check out #SnicksPicks).

Now she has her own Twitter and Instagram accounts, and you can meet our exclusive canine guest of honor at the Indy Star booth at Indiana Microbrewers Festival.

While you’re meeting Snickers, buy a pretzel necklace from Amy and the Indy Star crew at their booth for yourself and support Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

(Note that while service dogs are allowed, Snickers will be the only non-service dog admitted to the event.)

4. Pre-parties and pre-banding.

There’s a lot of goodness going on for craft beer lovers in and around Indianapolis this week, especially the night before #INbeerfest.

On Friday between 5 – 7:30 p.m., we’ll be at a number of local breweries and parties, where you can buy your fest tickets and get pre-banded so you can use the Express lane at the fest:
