In order to best serve our membership and supporters, the staff of the Brewers of Indiana Guild has chosen to place the Inaugural South Shore Beer Fest (SSBF) on hiatus until 2019.
The October 6, 2018 event was scheduled with the understanding that there were several other high-profile festivals across the state featuring Guild member breweries on that date, and we were hopeful that this would not impact our ability to have 50+ breweries and guests (mostly from Indiana) lined up to pour at SSBF.
Unfortunately that has not been the case, as we’ve heard from many Guild members that their resources were already stretched thin with prior commitments to other events and that they would be unable to attend.
Part of the mission of the Brewers of Indiana Guild is to increase public awareness and appreciation for the variety and quality of Indiana craft beer, and we felt that we would fall short of that obligation to our brewery members who in turn support our mission by participating in our annual fundraising beer festivals.
We also felt that it would be a disservice to craft beer enthusiasts who purchased tickets if we did not offer the widest variety of Indiana craft beer possible. Without that as the cornerstone of the festival, it would be almost impossible for the Guild to offer the exceptional festival experience that we aim to provide on behalf of our membership.
Thankfully, with the help of the South Shore CVA and the City of Whiting, we have lined up the major logistics needed for a successful festival next year and will announce a 2019 date as soon as it’s confirmed.
In the meantime, we thank the Guild members below that were able to register for SSBF:
18th Street Brewery
Black Swan Brewpub
Broad Ripple Brewpub
Burn Em Brewing
Deer Creek Brewery
Devils Trumpet Brewing Co.
Fountain Square Brew Co.
Ironwood Brewing co
Mad Anthony Brewing
Off Square Brewing
Sour Note Brewing
Sun King Brewing Company, LLC
Three Floyds Brewing Co.
We encourage you to join us at Northside Opti Park in Indianapolis on Saturday, October 27 for the 2nd Annual Halloween-themed Broad Ripple Beer Fest. Tickets for Broad Ripple Beer Fest will be available this Friday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. Eastern time here. See pics from last year’s event here.
Customers who purchased tickets to SSBF will receive refunds and the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets to Broad Ripple Beer Fest via email.
Thank you for your understanding, and as always, thank you for your support of our mission.
